How To Make The Best Use Out Of Plastic Storage Containers When Moving

Posted on

If you are planning a big move for your business or simply need to store some products or paperwork, you are probably considering the use of the large plastic storage bins. The thing is though, you are going to want to do everything you can in order to get the best use out of them. The following are examples of ways you can do just that!

Lines The Inside With Bubble Wrap

Take heavy duty packing tape and secure large sections of quality bubble wrap along the insides of the plastic container. This way, no matter what you are putting in there, if there is any room for things to shift during the move, things will not be as likely to break. This is not to say that you should not individually wrap fragile items with their own layer of bubble wrap. However, the additional layer of protection can make all the difference when it comes to protecting things that may not be able to be replaced, no matter how much you would try.

Seal The Lid In Place

The lids for the large plastic storage containers usually snap on with ease and stay in place. The thing is though, during a move, there is always the chance that something could bump against the lip of the lid hard enough where it would become jarred and disconnect from the container. Even if it never comes off, there is a chance at little insects could get into your container, especially if you have to store it in a self storage unit somewhere for a little while. To ensure that you will not have a lot of bugs mixed in with your business belongings, you will want to take packing or duct tape and wrap it all of the way around the lip of the lid.

Securely Attach Labels

To help make sure that every plastic bin is placed in the correct location and that you are going to be able to easily find most of the things you need within the first few days of your move, you are going to want to attach a label. You can simply write what is in the box on a small piece of paper and then tape that paper to the side or top of the box. To ensure that the label will not get ripped off, you will want to cover the entire thing with large pieces of packing tape.

With those tips in mind, you should have very little trouble ensuring that the plastic storage bins for your company storage needs will be used in the best way that they can be. You can continue reading more about storage solutions to learn more.
